The gal we are considering using for daycare 1 day a week recently added me as a friend on FB. I've seen her online a few times today. Weird or normal?

I'm guessing that the other kids she's watching are taking naps? I'm not sure how I think about it. Although, I am on the Internet a lot while DD plays.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about it as long as it wasn't excessive. Then again, I'm not one who believes that kids need your 100% undivided attention at all times and they need to learn to play independently (and with each other.)
I used to occasionally get online when I ran a home daycare. I spent lots of time doing things that required hands-on full attention to the kids, but there were also times during the day when they were playing imaginatively on their own and I had time to check email, look up a recipe, print out a coloring page/craft activity, etc (we had a computer in the playroom at the time.) There was also nap time every day...
I'm not going to say I never get on while DS is awake, I might be sitting next to his activity mat with my laptop, so maybe I shouldn't be so judgey...BUT, I'm not getting paid to watch other peoples kiddos either...

If it is all during a nap then that is ok, if not it is not cool...yes, we are on here but we are not being paid good money to watch someone else's kids.
Jen - Mom to two December 12 babies
Nathaniel 12/12/06 and Addison 12/12/08
I'm a DCP and am on occasionally - I have days when I don't have a moment at all, others when I'm on a few times. Often checking in with the kids' parents - only for a minute or 2 at a time, usually during meals or naps, occasionally during free play.
