What a crazy weekend! He was coming, he wasn't coming, he was coming...
We finally found out he was coming home and would be here around 1:30am Sat night/Sun morning. I put the kids to bed at 10pm Sat night and got them back up at midnight to go to the base. Got there just before 1am, only to be told the guys were still in MD and wouldn't be home until around 4am (Sunday- Valentine's). We were hoping the kids would go back to sleep... no such luck. We had to keep three VERY tired kids entertained in an empty room with nothing but spinning chairs and a vending machine until they eventually arrived at 5:30 A.M.! We were exhausted and freeeezing cold, but as soon that plane landed, none of that mattered!
..................................................................................
I had just gotten the text that they were landing, this was right before we went out to the flight line to watch them land (with his parents).
She held her sign up for a full 15 mins. before he even got off the plane, lol.
It's just been the BEST couple of days! It took a while to recover from no sleep, of course, and we've had lots of visitors, but it feels soooo good to have him HOME! The kids cannot get enough of him. They stay all up in his face ALL the time. Poor guy can hardly take a breath. If he sits down, all three of him want to sit in his lap (and he lets them all, lol). He left this morning to do his out-processing at the base and they FREAKED out. They were terrified he wasn't going to come back. They want to tell him everything they have seen and done for the last 7 1/2 months, lol. It's precious. We are going to get soooo spoiled having him home with us for the next month!!

That is so beautiful, it is making me cry! Enjoy your DH
He has to redeploy in 1 month??? That is too sad...
omg, I'm bawling. I haven't actually read anything you wrote... the pictures say it all. The one of you guys kissing is an amazing photo. I'm SO happy for you and your family.
ETA: ps. Give the DH a big thank you hug from us
Oh, yay! As weird as it sounds...I was thinking about you guys this weekend.
God bless your husband and your little family.
I LOVE the story/pic of your dd holding up the sign for so long.
Oh, I need to know...what was his reaction to your surprise and did he get his pizza?
No, he actually gets a whole month OFF completely before he has to go back to work here
No plans to re-deploy right now. At least not for a few years.
I'm sitting here crying!! Those pics are precious!! I know how that feels and it's so amazing! MH was deployed for most of my first PG, came home 3 weeks before DD came. It was hard but I can't imagine how it was for you and 3 kids!!!
Thanks for all you, your kids and your husband have done for our country!!
I really hope he isn't deploying again anytime soon!!
I'm so glad he made it home safely! I've been thinking about your family. Glad everyone is enjoying his company. I am crying at how beautiful this story is.
THANK YOU to your DH, YOU, and YOUR FAMILY for everything.

Lol. Well... since we didn't get home until 6:30am and we were SO tired, I decided I was going to wait until the next night. When we woke up at noon the next day, the FIRST thing DD said was, "Did you show him your new tattoo yet?!" Ah! Kids. His neck about snapped off though. Um.. excuse me? lol. I had to show him then and he was SHOCKED. And then we ordered pizza for lunch, he was in heaven.
I saved the rest for later
wonderful! I'm all teary -- I miss my DH when he's at work 9-5pm -- I cannot imagine! Thank you from my family as well

Congrats!!!!
This is MH's 3rd week in a row being gone and I'm feeling very down and resentful today. But MH will be back next week and he's in San Francisco fighting for big business, not even close to a comparable situation. I definitely needed to see your pics to give myself a big reality check today.
So, thanks.
And congrats again!!!
Reading your post and looking at the pictures brought on the tears.
I am so happy for you all that he's home safe and sound.
