Which do you like better? We'd call him by his full name, but I'm sure it would be shortened to Mike or Matt later and I like the full name "Michael" better, but the nn "Matt" better...
Haha this is great! My DH's name is Matthew and his brother's name is Michael. So of course I go with Matthew, I like the way Matt sounds over Mike. By the way the only people who use their full names is family, friends all say Matt and Mike.
I hate Matt for a nn, and know that inevitably people will call him that, no matter how much you don't want it, maybe not until he gets into school, but still it will happen. So I would go with Michael.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I have friends named Michael and Matthew. No one calls them by a nickname and if they ever ask, they immediately correct them to say they go by the full name. I think if you make it clear to everyone, then people will use the full name.
I like Matthew a lot by the way. I can't use it because of ex-BF's but still love the name.
3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
I am a little partial because my DH's name is Michael, but I just had to respond because his brother's name is Matthew. Both go by their full names. Close friends and family call them by their full names, but acquaintances always seem to shorten the name. I think it is so strange when my husband introduces himself as Michael and then the person calls him Mike. I like Michael, but I also like Matt better than Mike.

My brother is Michael and NO ONE calls him Mike. He's always been Michael (he's 29).
I would go with Matthew. I prefer that name (Matt is cute too) over Michael. Both are nice names though.
This!
