Hm, does he have days where he eats more than this? If DS never really ate any more than that, I would be a little bit concerned. But, then again, DS is 9 months older than your DS - I can't really remember how much he was eating at 12 months.

I wouldn't be concerned. DS's pediatrician told us to expect him to eat about 1 meal total all day soon after he turned one. He stayed a good eater until recently (almost 18 months). Now he doesn't eat much at all.
Just keep offering food. He won't let himself starve. Don't replace his meals with snacks just to get him to eat or he'll learn that he can get what he wants if he refuses his "regular" food.
It took me a long time to finally be "okay" with whatever DD eats. I stopped giving her what I know she likes everytime because it was only giving her things that were bad for her. I started giving her a plate for every meal, with a little something I know she will eat and some things that are good for her veggies/fruits. I give her the plate and she lets me know when she is done. Sometimes she eats good, sometimes she doesn't. I just keep offering food and it makes me feel like I am doing my job. DD seems to be gaining weight properly so I feel confident about what we are doing. It is so frustrating but I feel like a weight was lifted when I stopped letting the worry of what/when she was eating rule my life. LOL

C has days where he doesn't eat much, especially when he's teething or sick... which is going on right now. To top it off, he's gagging on so much because he has a little phlegmy cold that he's vomiting up some of what he eats.
Babies won't let themselves starve. They'll eat when they're ready. Just make sure he / she has plenty of wet diapers so that you know he / she is not dehydrated.
I also have had several conversations with DD's pedi about her eating and she always tells me "she will eat when she is hungry". It took awhile to finally just accept that but I am telling you, once you do it is a huge relief. I can't tell you how much time and energy went into worrying about my DD's eating habits. It is better now and I am sure it will be for you too! Good luck!
