Does Target require a receipt for exchanges?

I need to exchange a size 2 box of diapers for size 3. Has anyone done this at Target without a receipt? DH doesn't think it will work but I think it's fine. We haven't opened the box.

yes if you have the card you bought it on they can look it up or even if you paid case they will sometimes let you return it but use your liscence.

I've returned several things at Target without receipts, they just give you store credit instead of a refund.  If you are just doing a straight exchange there should be no problem at all.

They *will* do it, but depending on the store/cashier, it may be a lot harder than a straight exchange. Target has, without a doubt, the most Draconian return policy of all the big stores. 

They often will only do so many exchanges (I think two) of up to a certain $ amount per year, per person (they use your ID.)
