I think so. My friends DS freaks out all the time, starting around 7 months.

I think upset, yes.  Temper tantrum, no.  Crying is still their main way to communicate.  Calling it a tantrum implies something more negative, for lack of a better word, or implying that they are misbehaving, like a toddler or 2 year old.  Trust me, then you will see a tantrum. 

A 8 mo. old is still a baby.

Psh. I wish we made it that far w/o these fits. DS started about 3 weeks ago throwing fits. Like kicking, screaming...I'm not looking forward to this part.
