I love that name. I did read an article recently that Emily (which is a very popular name) will soon be replaced by Amelia, so it may become popular soon. Regardless, it's a beautiful name.
love it. It would probably have been DD2's name if DH had agreed...
CP 3/07 BFP 5/07 - Kylie born 2/08. BPF 2/09 - Alexandra born 10/09. TTC since 8/13 - diagnosed difficulty conceiving due to LP defect. Took vitamin B and Vitex Berry to help lengthen. BFP 2/14 - Missed M/C found at 8.5 weeks. D&C at 9w2d. Partial Molar Pregnancy. BFP 11/14
It doesn't seem overly popular right now but gaining in popularity. My girl name is the same way (Evelyn) and if #3 is a girl, I am going to have to carefully consider whether I want a name on the upswing of popularity.
Personally, I have never liked the name Amelia but I don't think there is anything wrong it, just my personal preference. It's a perfectly good choice for a little girl.
I like it, but it is pretty popular so that make me stay away from it... but if you guys agree on it, go for it regardless. It took us forever to settle on a name and if I am really being honest, I know DH gave in because I loved our name WAAAAAY more than he ever will.
This is my DH's favorite name for DD #2... but my problem is that it is popular around our hometown, and although it isn't TOO popular where we live... the LAST thing I want is for my DD to be one of four (or more) Amelia... That is why I am pushing Eloise... there are NONE here or around here...

Re: Do you like Amelia?
Not too popular at all. I know of one little girl with that name and she lives on the west coast.
It was my Great Grandmother's name and was on our short list for a girl.
