Maternity Pants

So, I have been in maternity pants for some time. They are very comfy but now that the belly is starting to assert itself I am not sure where you wear the band. These are mid band pants.  If I pull them up, it constricts the belly, if I wear them below the belly then the crotch appears to be dragging and the pants legs are really long.  Grrr. And on a vent, why do maternity shirts have to have such big tags that are loud and scratchy! TIA!

Re: Maternity Pants

  • I think you're supposed to wear those below the belly. It might not look quite right, but it'll be a lot more comfortable.

Have you tried those "secret fit" panel ones from Motherhood? Those are nice because you can pull them all the way up over your belly. GL :)

  • I have not tried them but I did order the JCP blue jeans that several nesties recommended and I LOVE them!!  They are so comfy and fit just right.

  • I wore them below the belly, but I couldn't wear them (as in the demi panel, etc.) for long with the twins. Those motherhood ones ended up being my absolute favorites. You will likely find that anything other than a really stretchy full panel will cause discomfort and contractions. They definitely don't make maternity pants with women carrying 12 or 13 pounds of baby in mind!

  • I could NOT wear anything that went up over my belly. It made me itch terribly. I wore the Gap low or medium styles - ones that sat below my belly or very low on it.
  • I flipped the band over so it sat more on my hips but that way the crotch didn't ride so low.

Glad to hear you like the JCP jeans!
