Leaking pee

Just had a baby boy 8 days ago - he weighed 9lbs.  When he pees, especially at night, the pee leaks out the top of the diaper and soaks his pajamas.  In fact, we have to change his clothes twice a night,  I've tried various sizes of diapers, pulling the ruffles out around the legs of the diapers, pointing his penis down, etc.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Any solutions?

fold the top of the diaper over (to the inside). Also- make sure you're actually getting the diaper snug enough. DH had trouble at first because he thought it was too tight on DS. As long as you can get two fingers in there, he's fine- otherwise snugg that puppy right up to him!

Once DS got a bit bigger we don't have to fold the top down anymore- but still if he's not snug enough he'll leak right over top- even if I point his little penis downwards. It always seems to rise to the occasion, so to speak!

Have you tried going up a size in diapers??  I always know when my DS is ready to go up to the next size because he starts leaking through the ones he is in.

You may want to give cloth diapers a try.  They are great at not leaking!
