I love double names! My great great grandma is Katherine Mae. I think that's really pretty. Her daughter (my great grandma) is Wilma Mae, but I think Wilma is a bit too Flintstones
If our next baby is a girl, we plan to name her Madigan May. DD1 has already said she plans on calling her Madi May (we don't). But I think it's a cute NN for her sister to use.

Re: Compound names with Mae?
That's funny because I'm really leaning towards the name Amelia Mae.
I saw LaurelMae the other day. It has grown on me.
I knew a girl named Abby Mae. That was her full name, not Abigail.

Sarah Mae
Laura Mae
Julia Mae
Addy Mae?
I think Ava Mae sounds nice, similar to Anna Mae but more modern sounding.
Also, Rosa Mae, Lilly Mae, Zoey Mae, Ruby Mae,
I think A endings and E endings sound best, although I prefer the A ending names with Mae.
We sometimes call DD Evie Mei although I don't know that Evie works as a formal name.
Gracie Mae
Lucy Mae
Ava Mae
Sarah Mae
Keira Mae
Susie Mae
Betty Mae
Sophie Mae
Katie Mae
I love Katie Mae, Maggie Mae and Ellie May.
I know a little girl named Lindsay Mae, that's cute too, but I like the really classic ones.
