6 years today J but we really don?t celebrate our dating anniversary. We?ll celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary in June
When and where did you meet? We met at work 6 years ago. He invited me to a Super Bowl party his friend was having.
Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? shortly after we started dating? I had talked to a friend of mine who read the Sophie Kinsella Shopaholic book. I was talking to her about it and he overheard me. We went to Target that afternoon and he secretly bought the book so I could read it. (and the cashier totally thought it was for him and he was trying to be secretive about it ? so funny). And I just thought that I wanted to be with someone who thought about me like that. And then it sealed the deal with my best friend?s brother passed away. He bought me an emergency plane ticket to be with her
Were you surprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) Yes. It was shortly after my dad passed away (Seriously, we had too much drama!) and I had looked at rings w/ my friend while I was in Portland to get my mind off of what was going on. We had talked to a jeweler in Huntsville who said he could order the ring but then Robert told me that the jeweler never called him back? My response was ? well he missed out on that one! Then we went to the beach that weekend. With his mom, brother, SIL and grandmother (good gracious!) and before we started our ?Family Vacation? we decided to walk on the beach where he proposed. He had the ring in his sock the entire drive to the beach! I didn?t expect it.
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) going to Louisville KY to watch the Oregon State game. We just had a great time. Or maybe our trip to Vegas? Or maybe it was our trip to Germany? Or it might be the night we ended up getting completely blitzed off of girly pink martini?s at home and laughing hysterically. I don?t know ? we have a lot of really great memories.

How long have you been together (you can include dating, married, whatever)? DH and I started dating in Dec 2000 and we got married Jan 6, 2007.
When and where did you meet? We both attended a mutual friend's wedding in Oklahoma in Nov. 2000. Us and 2 other people drove to OK together and back.
Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? I would say pretty early on.

When and where did you meet? I picked him up at the Cat's Meow on Bourbon Street in Aug 04 (sorry just noticed that was a redundant question)
Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? We dated long distance for several months and spent A LOT of time on the phone. I just remember one night we had a pretty intense conversation about things and I think that's when it hit me
Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) I knew it was coming (we had looked at rings and talked about it, etc), but was completely suprised when he actually did it. He proposed at sunset on the beach in San Diego after dinner at an amazing restaurant
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) I know I wrote the question, but this is hard. One of my favorite memories is the first time DH came to San Diego to visit me - I just remember being SO excited and overwhelmed seeing him. He was also just an amazing support during my long labor with Jenna - ugh, I can't pick one - sorry....
Best 3 qualities about your DH/SO (sorry ladies, IHO V-day, I won't ask for the worst 3....) He is very calm and good at keeping me balanced (I tend to be pretty high stress and often overreact/blow things out of proportion). He is a very hard/dedicated worker. He is very close with his family and family is super important to him - he loves Jenna so very much!

When and where did you meet? We first met 17yrs ago...at his (then) best friend's house...who I was dating at the time.

Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) Nope. Because I proposed to him! We were already living together, knew we were going to get married eventually and I was ready :-)

Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? I was a live-in nanny when we met, and when I saw him interact with my two little charges, I fell head over heels -- he is SO good with children and animals
Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) Yes, he had me convinced it would be sometime around my birthday or early summer (4-6 months later) -- and I never in a million years thought he would do it in front of my parents, but he popped the question on Christmas morning in front of everyone
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) There are so many...we've been through so many awful/wonderful times together. But I think my very favorite memory was seeing him hold our daughter for the first time. It gives me chills every time I think about it.

Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? I think the fact that I couldn't get enough of him and wanted to be with him all the time really sent me a message.

Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? maybe it's b/c i was in hs, and hs-ers tend to be very dramatic/emotional, but i always knew he was the one.
Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) yes and no. a couple of days before he proposed he was acting funny. i caught him writing down my friend's contact info from my phone, and he even spent some time talking to my dad in private, which at the time i thought was weird but then later realized that he had asked my dad 1st. so i sort of thought something was up, and felt like he was going to propose, but wasn't sure. anyway, we went to a park one day for a picnic and he proposed there.
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) eek, we've been through SO much. i say my most recent fav memory is the trip we just took to london in dec.

Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? I was amazed at the way he acted, period. I had never dated anyone as nice, respectful or courteous as him. This may be a little TMI but he never pestered me or got aggravated to have sex with him wehn we started dating and didn't say "Ok Bye" after we did. I kept thinking it was to good to be true, I dated some real sleezebags When we moved in together before we got married and we still got along so well and he didn't change, I knew.
Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) I knew it was coming we had picked out the ring and I knew he bought it but didn't know when I was getting it. The suspense was killing me and I kept begging for it. Well we were going to the river and I wanted to have it before we went so I could show everyone and he told me no. Well when we left the river I was in the truck looking sad and he said whats wrong. I said I want my ring, he said oh so are you ready to marry me now? And I said Yes, it was a surprise b/c I thought the ring wa still at home in the dresser.
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) Our first vacation together, NYE in Gulf Shores it was very romantic and fun b/c we had just started dating. Or our HM in Gatlinburg, we were relaxed and glad the wedding planning was over and just had a blast. It was very romantic, relaxing and we never argued period it was great.

When and where did you meet? We met at his sister and BIL's penthouse in Southside at a party
Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? When I went to his family Christmas only 2 months after we started dating. He has a HUGE family in Cullman and everyone gets together for the major holidays at Grandmother's farm. When I walked in and was greeted by about 50 smiling faces and warm hugs I felt "home" (I know that sounds corny). I loved how he was so family-centered and loved seeing him interact with all the kids and babies around.
Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) Extremely! We had been dating for 8.5 years at the time, I thought it would never happen! We planned a big surprise party for his father's 65th birthday. We wanted to hold it at the Buck Creek park in Helena, unfortunately, the park was already booked for that day by the Alabama Classic Car Club. They were having their annual auto show there that day. Matt talked to the president and asked if we could share the park with them for the day. The president agreed and we told them that we would make a donation to their charity (Magic Moments) in his Dad's name as a thank you for letting us share the park. When the day of the party came Matt was acting strange, but I figured he was just stressed about the party (we had to move it to the other side of the park at the last minute because the waterfall was overflowing due to heavy rain the night before). When the time came to go up on stage to present the check to their charity I begrudgingly walked up there with him. He was given the mic and started talking about how he had wanted to do this for a long time and he was so glad that our families were there to celebrate. I was nodding my head, thinking he was still talking about the party, and then he handed off the mic, got down on one knee, said the sweetest things to me and asked me to marry him. I was amazing! Sorry - didn't mean for this to turn into a novel, but it's one of my very best memories!

When and where did you meet? We met on Match.com, talked online/on the phone for about a month and then met in person on the quad at UA, while walking my dog. I never dated anyone from the internet before so I was pretty nervous!
Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? Yes. Early on I knew I was falling a lot harder than I expected and I kept trying to pull back, to "take things slow." Finally I threw all caution to the wind. We looked at rings after 3 months, moved in together after 6 months and got engaged at 9 months.
Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) I knew we were going to get engaged soon because I knew he had the ring. I was just surprised when he did it... at a reception in front of his entire office.
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) The birth of our daughter. There was also a random day when I came home from work and he and DD were playing in the front yard, he was tossing her up in the air. It was one of those happy moments I want burned into my memory forever.

Random fact about DH/SO. He spent five years playing lead guitar in a band and traveled all over Georgia and South Carolina, playing in different venues, playing original music that he wrote. In his college town he is still treated like a musical god by some people who were in college at that time. It's very odd to me.

When and where did you meet? Met in class at AU in Spring 04, the class was at 7 am and most mornings I showed up late in my pj's and pillow-matted ponytail...I said I knew it was real if he liked me in that state!
Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? I was moving (for the 3rd time, lol) into an apartment and had to be out of my place the next day. My mother came down and he helped us (ALL night, til 5:30 a.m.) move everything and even hang pictures on the walls. We had been dating for a couple of months and I told my mother I was going to marry him someday! I'm sure she thought I was crazy.
Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) Absolutely! I had NO idea he was even considering it. He came to my home the week before and I asked him about future/family, and he said something that made me cry (bc I thought he had no intentions). The next weekend, he proposed at Samford Hall...it was so sweet. He had picked out the perfect spot, which I now call "our bench".
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) Where do I even start? We had so much fun during our internships in Jacksonville, FL. I loved going to the riverside and just sitting/talking/having picnics he planned on a whim...that place will always be special to us! More recently, I love how great of a father he is to Jaxon

Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"?I wouldn't say a certain point but it was a feeling I had when we were around each other. I couldn't see myself with anyone else.
Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) I was really surprised. HE had planned the elaborate dinner at a fancy restaurant, yet nothing was going as planned, i.e he left his dress shoes at work, couldn't find his belt, we were late for the reservations, etc. He was really flustered and then just got down on one knee in our apt and did it right there.
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) There used to be an art gallery that we'd visit everytime we went to Destin. We'd pick out paintings and pix that we'd "buy" one day. WEll the day after our wedding and as were driving to ATL to leave for Jamaica we make a stop and purchase a piece that I had been eyeing forever. This sticks out b/c I remember that being one of the happiest days ever and that art piece is my most loved piece in the whole house b/c we bought it together at such a happy time in our lives.

How long have you been together We dated for 3.5 years and have been married for 1.5 years (so 5 years total)
When and where did you meet? We met at a bar and I was on a date with another guy. It's sounds awful I know but we were making googley eyes and smiling at each other and then my friend gave him my number.

Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? Yes, I was hoping he would for about a year and it was driving me crazy. When he finally did asked me in front of our parents I was in complete shock!
Favorite memory with your DH/SO We took a trip to Yosemite the first year we were dating and we were sitting at the top of a mountain and no one was around. It was so peaceful and he leaned over and gave me a hug.

Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) No, but that was my dad's fault lol...Wes had called asking for permission and my dad didn't know he was supposed to not tell me that..so I knew it was coming just didn't know when

How long have you been together (you can include dating, married, whatever)? We will have been together a total of 11 years in April.
When and where did you meet? At church...in youth group
Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? Hmmm...I don't know if there was a "moment." We did break up for 3-4 months one time. During that time I dated some other guys and none of them could compare. I think I realized then that I couldn't live without him.
Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) I was very suprised. We had talked about it, but he kept saying he couldn't afford the ring, etc. He proposed during a quick weekend trip to the beach. He got down on one knee at the edge of the water during a nighttime walk on the beach. It was perfect!
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) We have been together for so long that there are many great memories. I would say we had a great trip to Hawaii and did so many memorable things together there. I also think of the day Allie was born. We were both so in love and he never left the hospital.

Favorite physical feature of DH/SO Well, I always tell him that I first was attracted to him because of his butt...haha! I really do love his eyes. They are a gorgeous shade of goldish green. I always have hoped Allie would have his eyes.
Random fact about DH/SO I have no clue! Just trying to come up with something...he drinks an entire, full glass of ice water every night before laying down to go to sleep...and never gets up in the night!

Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) I knew he was going to propose, but the day he proposed I was shocked. I didn't have a a clue he was going to propose on that day.
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) our honeymoon: we had the best time driving all over Ireland with no real directions (we only got "slightly lost" once) and when we had Jude. I had never seen him hold a baby before and it was such a sweet moment.

When and where did you meet? We met in a local night spot on Thanksgiving Day 2000. I was living in ATL and was home for the holiday. (Yes, in my early 20's I went out for drinks w/ my girlfriends after Thanksgiving Dinner!
Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"? It was pretty early on...but the Mother's Day after we met he told me it would be my day one day. I was like, what? He wants me to be his baby mama? LOL, but then I thought it was sweet that he saw a future w/ us together.
Were you suprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) OMG, yes! It was a City Stages 2005 w/ the help of a local band that was playing. All my family and friends were there and I thought we were just enjoying a nice Sunday afternoon hanging out in the park, until the band leader (who we know) said "We want to dedicate this song to our good friends Aaliyah and Roy, who just got engaged!" Next thing I knew DH was on one knee w/ a ring.
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular timeframe) We went to a music festival in Atlanta (yes we love music fests) w/ my BFF and her hubby. It was just a perfect weekend - sunny but not too hot, and the most perfect breeze. We ate, we drank, we danced, we sang and lounged in our travel chairs. Good times.
Best 3 qualities about your DH/SO (sorry ladies, IHO V-day, I won't ask for the worst 3....) Great work ethic, wonderful dad, and hilarious. It was a requirement for me to marry someone who made me laugh.

When and where did you meet? A mutual friend introduced us during my freshman year at Auburn. We were friends throughout college (he wasn't my type), and started dating about 6 months after I graduated (I saw him in a different light).
Was there a certain point that you knew he was "the one"?I knew before our first date that I was about to embark on a wonderfully amazing relationship. After a few dates I knew he was it for me and told him that I wanted to have a family with him. It blew his mind and still does to this day that I told him that, but he did not freak out at all the moment I said it. He just smiled.
Were you surprised when DH/SO proposed?? (Insert brief story if you feel so inclined)YES. It was one of my random weekend visits with him. He took me to the Bham museum of art into the English Art gallery, where I found a ring (decoy) on a pedestal with a description card saying how much he loved me (in old English) and at the end "Will you marry me?". I turned around to find him on his knee with a ring in hand. Immediately afterward, he also arranged for our friends to set up a beautiful lunch at the Temple of Sibyl in Vestavia. I still am shocked he arranged all of that with so many people involved. It was like a movie where everyone is smiling at you because they know what's going to happen and you have no idea.
Favorite memory with your DH/SO (no particular time frame)-Our first date weekend. He originally had intended to take me out, but decided to cook me dinner instead. He was so nervous yet tried so hard to make it perfect. It was then that I realized how much he liked me. Such a sweet first date!

(Insert brief story if you feel so inclined) uh-not really--we had talked about it, shopped for rings, I found out that he had asked my dad during a trip to Chicago, and the night that he did it he was acting so nervous and starting opening and closing the ring box in his pocket--a sound in which any girl could recognize
