Update on waiting...

The agency said they were hoping the BM would make a decision this week. I hadn't heard anything and was getting anxious so decided to call the agency for an update. So glad I did. Turns out the BM is getting a lot of pressure from her family to keep the baby. The agency informed the BM they will not introduce her to an adoptive family until she is sure she wants to place the baby for adoption.

 Our agency gives the BM written information about adoptive families that match their criteria first. After they narrow down to a family or two then they show the BM the profile books. The BM did want to look at two profile books; ours and one other family. I am really looking at this situation like it is probably not going to happen. If anything comes from this then we will be pleasantly surprised. I just feel so bad that the BM is being put in this situation. She feels her family is not going to be there for her if she gives birth, yet they are pressuring her to keep the baby. So sad for everyone involved.

    Wow-she has a big decision to make. If she did decide to parent I hope her family would be there at least since they are pushing it. Honestly, I'd much rather her change her mind now than later though. I hope everything works out!

    Definetly a tough situation! Praying for everyone involved ...

    Our agency is the same --- the pbm's get to read written information and questions the couple has answered ... once they narrow down to 2 families they show pictures. That way no one can choose based on material things and all!

    Wow!  That is so hard for everyone, including you guys.  I hope that she makes the best decision for her and LO in the end (and of course I hope that means great things for you)!

    Thank you. I'm just assuming we won't know anything until the baby is born. Who knows, maybe a different birth mom will pick us before then.
