I am having a small gtg at my house. I'm trying to keep it as stress-free as possible. I was thinking of doing some boiled or steamed shrimp as a main dish...the rest will be mostly appetizers. Do you think that would be really messy? We eat it all the time, but the thought of 10-15 people peeling shrimp in my living room is a little unappealing. Wdyt?
Re: Party menu question (nbr)
Maybe if you just really want to have shrimp purchase it already peeled and deveined?
Ooops, well disregard what I said then!
Honestly, I don't think I would do it. Think of not only the smell in your house from all that shrimp, but also how many shells will be everywhere as people peel them. Also, I kinda think of steamed shrimp as an appetizer.
If you are wanting to do something super easy, you could do a baked potato bar. Just have the potatoes baked and ready to go and then offer lots of toppings like cheese, sour cream, brocolli, bacon bits, butter, chives, chili, etc. Minimal prep work, very filling, little mess, no stink! HTH!
