So its been a week since I've been home on modified bedrest. Started having contractions 6 minutes apart at 24 weeks. I stayed in the hospital for four days on Mag, and everything stabilized. I am very lucky, my husband works from home and takes our daughter when he can, but she still hangs out with me sometimes. My question is how do you keep a 2 year old entertained while lying on the couch or in bed all day? Are there any fun activities or games you do?
I'm 25 weeks now, this could be a long 3 months for all of us!
Re: managing bedrest and a two year old
INCREDIBLY HARD!!!! Thankfully DD is usually in daycare, though my husband does work from home also. However, she has been home for the last week because of the crazy snow storms we have been having. We are all going INSANE!!!!! Really hasn't been very good for me in terms of BP. Anyway, honestly she watched way too much tv right now but it helps to keep her entertained - she likes Disney movies. We also color and make artwork with stickers. My mom and sister also try to come and take her out for a little while to give her extra attention.
I went on BR at 30 weeks and will be induced on 3/9 so I thankfully don't have too much longer to go......but you just have to take it one day at a time......good luck!!!
I have a 3yr old and am on bed rest. I'm also 25 weeks. He watches tv, plays with toys in my room, and we read books. We have a friend that takes him one day a week. I do worry about him watching so much tv. However, if you consider the big picture, he won't remember much of this time. It's not forever, try to remember that. You're doing what is best for BOTH of them.
My husband also works from home most days. I know it's hard on him, but marriage is for better or worse, right?
DD has a little table and sits by the couch when I'm laying down, we can do puzzles and she can paint, read, do little crafts. I keep a box full of goodies next to the couch and can just get her something new when she gets bored. TV is one thing we do alot of now as well. It is hard but it can be done. Good luck!
