I need Dr. BOTB. Groin pain

I am having groin pain.  It's not my vag or lightning crotch.  It is in the area of that tendon/muscle thingy that runs from your inner thigh into your crotch area (groin muscle?).  It does not hurt when I am sitting/laying down/being still or if I rub or poke it.  But when I stand up/walk its very uncomfortable.  If I stand on one leg, like to put on pants it is horrific.

Is this normal stretching or something I need to call for?

  • Have you done anything that could have caused a pull recently?  Thats kind of what it sounds like

  • I have that, and my doctor said it has to do with everything widening. For me it hurts when I put on pants, when I get out of bed and swing one leg over and especially if I walk for too long. Not to be a debby downer, but it has gotten worse every week!

My OB said a support belt would help a lot, b/c some of the pain is from pressure. I haven't tried that though. A warm bath helps when it has gotten really bad.

  • No and if I pulled it I would think that the pain would start to diminish but the intensity has stayed the same for 3-4 days now.

  • I don't know if that is exactly what I have... I have felt like I got kicked in the pubic bone for several weeks now.  It hurts from the front to the back and is made work if sit, stand, or move too quickly.  I was told this is normal.

  • I have the same thing and it hurts like a biitch.  It's probably just stretching.

  • Aside from the same feeling that Lyssa has, that "i just got kicked in the crotch by a mule" feeling, I also have that same feeling your experiencing. It's fine if I'm sitting or laying down but as soon as I get up to walk it hurts like a biatch! Its those same muscles you're describing. I was told it's normal. It's due to your muscles relaxing and body widening.

  • I had pubic symphisis dysfunction. Putting on pants and having pain was one of the HUGE signs!

Sleep with a pillow between your legs, and try to minimize activity that would keep your legs not parallel.

Get out of the car with your legs next to eachother. Get out of bed the same way. Squeeze your knees together.

Keep on top of it because by the end of the pregnancy with Linc, I was miserable.

  • Thanks for the question here...I've been feeling this the last couple weeks.  I especially feel it when I roll over in bed at night.  I never thought about the whole "widening" thing.  Makes sense though!  You're not alone. :)
