Sporting events--do lap babies need tickets?

If you've taken your baby to a sporting event and they are sitting on your lap/in a carrier--did you have to buy them a ticket?

We are going to a hockey game on Friday and am planning on taking DS (5 wks old), do you think I have to buy him a ticket too?  Airlines don't make you but how about professional sports? TIA!

    I know that most baseball parks do not make you pay for a lap baby, however, UK makes you pay which I think is ridiculous!!!!!

    Okay, okay, I'm lazy and was just hoping you ladies could help me out!  I just talked to ticket rep and children under 2 do not need tickets!  Good to know.

    Took my 2 1/2 year old nephew to a Pitt basketball game and didn't need a ticket. We even sat courtside and he loved it. Can't wait to take DD to a Pens game!!!
