Baby Showers

Hostess Gifts?

May I ask what gifts you gave your baby shower hostesses? We have two upcoming baby showers, both fairly large. One has 8 hostesses and his family shower has about 10.  I'm obviously very grateful for each hostess' involvement but don't want to end up spending beaucoup on these gifts. Any hints? TIA.

Re: Hostess Gifts?

  • I would get them something like a empty picture frame, pink or blue depending on what your having, on the inside write them a lil note that says they get the first pictures of the baby after its born, or copy the baby's foot prints and give them copys of them to put in the frames, i think thats a really cute idea, hope it helps.. :)
  • How much $ were you looking to spend? I agree, that's a lot of hostess to buy stuff for! I think hand written thank you cards go a looong way! I almost think getting a letter of appreciation is worth more than receiving a gift. Your hostesses will love the fact that you took the time to sit down and write an actual letter about why you're grateful:) Give that with a single flower...like a tulip, or other favorite flower tied with a pretty ribbon. Remember...they're not expecting a gift from you, so this will be a nice gesture while not breaking the bank. Hope that helps!

  • I agree with the other pp...that is a lot of hostesses.  The picture frame idea is really cute and can be fairly inexpensive even for 10 people.  Once you have pics of your LO then you need to be sure to mail or give them a copy to put in their frame.  If you can't swing that budget-wise you could always have them all over for a luncheon (before baby is born of course) and even call it a "thank you luncheon".  That way they will know how much you appreciate the time, effort and $ they put into the shower.  I would still send or give them a card (unless you have the luncheon the very next week and you could give them the card then).
  • Four friends of mine hosted my first shower. They all travel a lot and are real foodies... so I got them each this book. They loved it!

  • Cute notecards are usually my go-to for hostess gifts.
  • I sent thank you notes to the 6 women who hosted by bridal shower and bachelorette party; however, I did not give them gifts.  I have never received a gift from anyone for whom I have thrown showers for in the past....never expected to either.  Just a thank you card is more than appropriate.

Although, I love the idea of the picture frame and promise of a baby picture...very cute!!!
