car seat question..

all the books say to put the car seat in the middle... im installing my 2 tomorrow... where do they go? I was thinking one on the left and one on the right, no middle.. am i wrong?

Re: car seat question..

  • Wherever they fit :).

I'd do one on the right and left.

Eh...I'm going to update this. If you do one on each side, you might have issues w/ the driver's side seat and a rear facing car seat. Make sure you've got room for both. So, one in the middle, one on passenger side is probably what will work in taht situation.

    Like I said...wherever they fit.

  • mine are on the left and right, when I need to, I sit between them in the middle

ETA: I couldn't get the carrier+baby out of the middle, but I've got an SUV that sits pretty high and I short

  • When the boys were in infant seats, we had one on the driver's side and one in the middle. Partly because the middle's the safest and that way at least one of them was in the safest spot (we traded off who was there) and also so one of us could ride in back with them if necessary, we could set stuff on the empty seat, etc.

  • we have one on each side. they suggest the middle, and thats great if you have one baby.
  • we had one on the passenger side and one in the middle when they were younger.  now that they're bigger and feistier they mess with each other if their seats touch, so we separated them to the two sides.  it's a pain to have anyone ride in back because they have to climb in from the front.  if they'll fit it's definitely more convenient to do middle and one side

  • Our car is too small, so one on the left, one on the right, which makes for a tight squeeze for driver and passenger because the seats have to be pushed forward quite a bit.
  • The middle is ideal if you have 1 child.

We have one on each side.
