Hostess Gift Question

Hi ladies!  I purchased a gift for each of my hostesses (I am having 2 showers).  My question is -- are these gifts usually opened when the guests are all there or are they given and opened before or after the shower when guests aren't around?  I dont want to be rude or tacky!!  TIA!

I always give the hostess her gift the minute I walk through her door. As to when they're opened...I let the hostess decide. Some people like to open them right away, but most opt to open it when everyone leaves (just in my experience). Either way, you won't be rude or tacky! Giving a hostess gift is a generous, respectful thing:)

i give hostess gifts at the end after everyone leaves.

At the beginning they are usually trying to finish setting things up and i dont like to do it in front of other guests- some who may arrive early.

This. My experience is usually as the shower has ended and most guests are gone.
