We are having my dd's 3rd bday party in our yard. We're getting a bounce house, but need to have other activities for them to do (about 30 kids). Any ideas???
We had my DD's 3rd birthday in our house/yard and honestly, they didn't need too much to "do" they figured it out. We have a swingset and a decent sized yard. The theme was "dinosaurs" so I had these cheapie inflatable dinosaurs that they ran around with. They were very good at entertaining eachother!!
What will the temp be? For my DD last b-day last June, we turned the sprinklers on and the kids had a blast (we told everyone to bring a suit in the invited). Other than that we had a small bounce house, we have a sandbox and we set out some yard games (soccer balls, baseball set, etc). The kids really kept themselves pretty busy and we stopped mid way to do cake.
Instead of a cake at ds's 3rd birthday, I made cupcakes and just put white frosting on them. Then I put all different toppings in little bowls and the kids decorated their own cupcakes. It was a hit with the kids and the parents.
The party is in March...so if it rains, we'll cancel:(
With the cupcakes, did you ice them at the last minute so the toppings would stick? or did you ice them beforehand?
thanks again:)
I iced them that morning for a lunchtime party. Things like sprinkles didn't stick because the frosting was too dry. I had gummi bears, chocolate chips (don't leave them in the sun long like I did though -- big mistake), marshmellows, M&Ms -- things like that. Those were easy for little hands to place where they wanted and then push into the frosting so they stuck.
Re: Ideas for activities at 3 year old bday party
The kids barely came out of the bounce house at DD's 3rd Princess party.
I got some of those plastic sun catcher things in princess themed things from Oriental Trading. They were a little messy.
What if you printed coloring pages to coordinate and set up a coloring table. Pin the tale on something? Musical chairs?
