I'm not a fan of the last name as first name trend in general, so I would have to say NMS. However, I really, really dislike the spelling with a K. If you're set on using it, use the traditional spelling.

Yes there were some strong opinions of it. I knew about the Jewish root of it too but I was looking @ it from a German stand point. I still love the name and will probably use it when the time comes! GL

Personally, I wouldn't use Cohen just because I would stay away from a name that could possibly offend every person they meet from a particular religion/culture. However, since there is a name of German origin (Coen) that is pronounced the same, I would go with the German spelling as to not offend. But, that just my $0.02
