We're moving, which means packing, which means DS wants to help with packing. The best way seems to just give him a box or two and let him "pack" his room -- otherwise he wants to pack everything in the house and that just gets messy. We did this last time we moved (5 months ago), and it worked out well.
Well, when he was in his room, he took everything that had little pieces (army men, board game pieces, puzzle pieces, playing cards) and just dumped it all into a big box. So basically everything is just a mess in there, and we're going to have to resort it all when we move in.
Plus, we're not moving for two weeks, so he still needs toys around to play with. He fah-REAKED on me for not letting him pack up his art stuff yesterday.
Ugh. I hate moving. Hate it so much.
Re: I don't have OCD, but ...
I must be a fah.reak. I PPH moving!
I get to purge, organize the boxes and PURGE!!!
I would let him have a few boxes in his room he nd pack and unpack at his whim.

Thankfully, there's not much to purge since we just moved 5 months ago (and 3 months before that too). So it's just packing ... and packing ...
I'm with Jamaica on this one. I love to organize and get rid of junk!
Moving is so hard with a young one! We did it when E was little and it was brutal.
See, I am a freak. We sold, packed, built, moved blah blah blah when Owen was little (under 2) and I was 6 weeks away from having Luke. Loved it.
