El Paso to Austin drive time?

Because I don't trust what Mapquest says.  My parents pulled over in El Paso for the night (they're driving in from CA) and are trying to figure out how early they need to get up to make it here before the "winter weather" hits.  

sidenote: parents almost here = BABY ALMOST HERE!  ZOMG!

8-10 hours.

Heard I-10 is 75 or 80 MPH in parts now!?

maybe we're just slow drivers but since dh's grandmother still lives there we go a lot... more than I ever wanted to. 

 It's always right at 9 hours for us (remember you have at least one gas stop in that).

All right, so Mapquest was close (said 8.8 hours or something).  So the way my dad drives, 7 hours.  

So excited to see my mom and dad!
