Went to the OB this morning for a check up and everything still looks great, my bp was a little high, but after I
calmed down a little it was a perfect 120/80. Gained a couple of pounds
so I officially hit the recommended 35! Sam was moving around great and
we are really healthy. Now the not so great part. I'm still not
dilated, still not thinned out, and where as she is in the head down
position she has not made any attempt to settle down into my pelvis. My
doctor said that this could possibly change once my cervix begins to
thin and I start contracting after they induce tomorrow morning, but
that it could be due to her size. He is now thinking that she may be a
bit bigger than he thought to begin with, and could weigh upward of
9lbs. I can't say that I am surprised. DH was 9lbs 7oz, and I was an
even 9, but I had hoped that she would be a bit smaller. So my doctor
did not want to schedule an elective c-section yet, because he wants to
try and give her a chance to come down, but said that a c-section might
be our best option in the end to keep us both healthy. I guess I'm ok
with this, because whatever is best for Sam is best for me, but I had
really hoped I would be able to have a nice easy vaginal delivery.Dr.
also said he would wait a couple of days if he thought it would help,
but due to the fact that she is already a bigger baby he doesn't want
to give her the chance to put on any extra weight, that would make it
even more difficult.
So the game plan is for me to go to
the hospital tonight at 8, they will monitor me for an hour or so and
then administer the cervadil to soften my cervix a couple of times, and
then they will induce me around 6am on Wednesday. He is hoping that
things will progress smoothly, but if she is still not dropping down by
herself then we will have a c-section. In the end he is hoping that we
will have our baby girl by supper time.
I will be making updates via fb, and I will try to get my irl friend to update you ladies too until I get a chance to get on and upload some pictures.
Re: Induction tomorrow
My friend did the same thing. She didn't have LO until 2 days late. She was not dilated, thinned, dropped anything. They put her in the hospital and put some kind of creme down there that softened her cervix or something. You could only apply it every 12 hours twice total. But anyways after the second application she started progressing and had the baby vaginally so there is still hope. GL and can I be your Facebook friend,

Good luck! Your story sounds so much like mine...I didn't have any progress no dilation, nada at 40 weeks either and I was given cervadil and induced the next morning as well..mine ended in c-section and honestly it wasn't bad at all...but I do hope that she comes naturally for you!
Again good luck and here's to having baby in your arms soon
