I have just started with my son, I really like them but I have not used the reusable liners, we have tried just using prefolds but that didn't work very nicely. My son seems to like them.
I've had several friends use regular cloth diapers and they have all switched to something else (BumGenius, Fuzzibunz, etc..., one even switched to disposables) because they hated them. gDiapers are the only ones I don't know anyone with firsthand experience using them so I'm investigating all my options.
Is your little one born yet? If so what is their age? We just started it when my son was 7 months. Where do you live? If you would like to meet up some time so you can see them let me know
There was a 50% off deal for g diapers on mamabargains.com recently and I was tempted to buy them but if I do cloth diapers I want it to also be economical. From what I've read, even on the g diapers website, they focus more on being eco-friendly and aren't cheaper than disposables. If I'm missing something let me know? I'll probably try one of the other cloth options out there after our baby gets out of the newborn stage.
True they are not that cheaper but I want to switch to cloth well at home so that will make up for the cost. Plus our garbage is now charging per lbs. so if we don't have to pay the extra charge for Mr.Poopy butt that helps with the cost also.
Payne2B2008: Little one isn't due til April 23rd. I live 2 1/2 hrs south of the Twin Cities so meeting up probably won't work, but thanks for the offer!
We won't be able to flush liners (septic system) so we're looking at the reusable liners for at home and disposable liners for road trips.
Ya, that could be a little far to meet up I think I am going to order some of the reusable one in the coming week, If I can't find them in a store (I would much rather that). Once I get them I can let you know what I think.
If you are looking for eco friendly stuff, there are plenty of disposable diapers that are biodegradable now. Much less of a hassle, or cloth diapers and do a diapering service.

HATE them. Seriously. They always leaked. We stiched to Bum Genius and haven't had an issue. I thought I'd hate the cleaning part but actually it's not that bad. And the liberation you get from not having to buy anymore diapers is so worth it.

Also I love that I can flush the liners
