Student to adult ratio? the daily schedule? Is it play based? (at ours 3's is mostly play and 4's is still quite a bit of play but much more structured.)
Some things you might want to think about are more personal. For example, I specifically wanted a preschool that used a play-based teaching curriculum. Contrasted with a new preschool in town which is more rigid and structured. At that school, they work in a workbook everyday, and occasionally bring home homework. A lot of class time is spent at the table. Compared to my preschool where children learn skills in a hands-on environment.

Workbooks? No thank you! I also want a play based program.
Re: Questions to ask a pre-k program?
This is a good overview to help you think about what you should be looking for in general, and then you can develop your questions from there.:
