In this day and age of mapquest and GPS, do you still expect to receive directions to a venue in an invitation? I got Mia's baptism invites and I just want to send them out and not have to worry about adding an insert. Your thoughts? Thnaks, Ladies!
Anyone in my family who would come to our baptism would be technologically challenged. I would include the directions, but we are inviting very few and it's at the same church where we got married. I suppose if you're close with everyone and you don't want to put directions, they could just call you. Depends on your guest list.
Everyone on my side knows the church since it's my old parish...it's just a matter of whether or not I want to be nice to DH's side...hahah! Although I think they all have some sort of navigation system.... I'll see what he says
I included directions from the church to our house for the after-party. It seems to me that those with GPS somehow get lost more often than people who don't. I had three or four phone calls the day of L's baptism from people who have GPS asking for directions. That I had already sent with the invite. Sheesh!
We will not be including directions. We are having a private christening though so only a handful of people will be invited and they all know where the church is located. Its a tough question b/c if I received an invitation and was not familiar with the location I wouldn't think twice since I could use GPS. However if you have older grandparents, etc then they might need the added help that directions would provide.
I never put directions (exception: if I know MapQuest or GoogleMaps have crap directions) in invites. Or registry info in shower invites. Think of it as added incentive to RSVP. The things you could learn if you actually follow the directions on the bottom of the invite and Respondez.
