So when I logged on just not The Bump home page had this quiz:Baby Name Style Quiz. Thought it was fun and I should share. If you want take it and post what you got.
From old movies to old
cars, you definitely have an appreciation for the past, and love it
when old trends come back into style. That?s why, when it comes to baby
names, you?re a big fan of digging up monikers that have long been
forgotten about, but can still work today. The good news for you is
that granny names are making a comeback in a big way; so don?t be
afraid to hop on that bandwagon. Just make sure you bear in mind which
olden-day favorites work in the modern world and which ones are better
off not being resurrected. Our advice: Go for names that
still have their charm like Adelaide and Rose and try to skip stuffy
ones like Ida and Gertrude.
Boring is definitely not a word anyone would use to describe you. You?re all about marching to the beat of your own drum, embracing creativity, and not caring what anyone else thinks. And chances are, that?s what people love most about you. When it comes to baby names, others might raise a few eyebrows at off-beat celebrity baby names they read about, but not you -- you admire their originality. It?s no mystery then why you naturally steer clear of popular names like Emma and Jacob and are more drawn to quirky or different names most people flip past in the baby name books. Our advice: Just don?t get too nutty when browsing for the right one. Remember, there?s a reason why Moon Unit Zappa is universally considered to be one of the worst names of all time. Know when to rein in the crazy.

Thanks for sharing - this is great! Never would I have thought that my naming style is unique. Has anyone ever heard of the name Calliope before??

From movies, to books, to fashion icons, you sure have an appreciation for all things classic. So, chances are, when it comes to naming baby, you probably won?t spring for anything too unusual. You?d much rather stick to traditional names that have some real staying power than risk having your kid taunted on the basketball court. (Smart move.) Just don?t confuse traditional with boring (i.e. think about going beyond the Anns, Jennifers, and Jasons.) Our advice: There are definitely tons of classic baby names to choose from that are still unique enough to seem original (see below). And trust us, baby will be grateful later -- when there aren?t 10 other kids with the same name on the kindergarten roster.
***I'd definitely say I'm classic when it comes to many things, but not really baby names. I like something a little different. I wouldn't name my baby any of these names.***
I'm not sure this is right at all. I tend towards more classic names, and just because I watch The Office and listen to Lady Gaga, that doesn't make me trendy, persay. (However, my top girl name is in that list.)
Your style is? TRENDY
You?re a Top 40s girl, you follow any blog worth reading, and can talk about anything from last night?s episode of The Office or what went down on the Jersey Shore with the best of ?em. In short: You know what?s up. Which is why when you search through baby names, you?re always drawn to what?s new and different, and always like to keep an ear out for what the celebs are naming their kids these days. But just because you want to keep things current doesn?t mean you should always go with what?s super-popular when it comes to baby name trends -- unless you want your kid to wind up with a played-out name. Our advice: Put a unique spin a popular favorite. For instance, if you?re in love with the name Aidan but know every other boy in the nursery will be sporting the same name, go for something similar but slightly different -- like Declan.
I came up Earthy, but not exactly sure why since I'm far from the cloth diaper, everything organic type. The only name on that list I would ever consider is Hunter, but it's my good friend's last name and doesn't really fit with my last name.
Your style is? EARTHY
You pride yourself on being a realist and knowing what?s going on in the world -- and pretty much always having an opinion on all of it, from global issues to local issues. It?s no wonder, then, that you try and do your part in any way you can, whether it?s going organic or springing for cloth diapers. Sure, some might call you crunchy, but hey, you embrace it; you?re a no-frills kind of woman who doesn?t get overly caught up in what?s trendy. And shopping for a baby name is no exception. To you, the most important part of choosing a good name is finding one with a lot of meaning behind it; not just one that everyone else likes. Our advice: Look into poetic-sounding names that are tied in with nature -- like Meadow, Lily, Cypress, or Forrest. Not only are they melodic, but they often have strong meanings attached to them that are sure to resonate with you.

It says mine is "Unique" which is 100% wrong. I tend to really dislike these types of names (for my own children! I don't care what someone else names their kids ). My DS is named Christopher, and our top choices for baby #2 are Claire and Benjamin... so I'm going to say I'm pretty classic/traditional.

But those names are so not me. I am much more classic. Also, I am pretty sure the only earthy thing I selected in the quiz was that I don't leave the house without reuseable bags. They are always in the trunk of my car.
I got Classic, too, which is definitely my style (well, I'm sort of classic retro). But I consider the names they've chosen more trendy classic than actually classic. A classic girl's name would be Elizabeth or Katherine, not Sophia, which is experiencing a recent boom.
We've picked Josephine Edith and Simon Kelly.
