A friend of my SIL is giving us two Bellini cribs. They are so freaking gorgeous and there's no way we would EVER spend that kind of money on one crib let alone two. One of the cribs is ready now but the other one won't be ready for a while, the friend is worried that if she moves her kid to a toddler bed at 3, he'll lose his afternoon nap.
My question, how long can twins share a crib? I guess it depends on how tall the kids are, but approximately how long did your kids share a crib? I figure we'll have them in a PNP in our room for at least two months and then move them to their own room but they can still share a crib for a while right?? These kids are due in April, fingers crossed that I can cook them for that long, and I'd like to tell her that we can wait until Sept/Oct for the second crib but do you guys think that's too long?
Re: Crib question
Well...it depends on you and your babies.
I would think the longest they can sleep in the same crib would be about 4 months-ish. I would think once they can roll, they'll be rolling into eachother and waking each other up. This happens around 4-ish months, depending on the baby.
What I would say you could do though, if worse comes to worst is have 1 in a crib and 1 in a PNP in the nursery while you wait for the 2nd crib, if that's what you want to do.
i agree with pp, we had the boys in the same crib until they started kicking each other and waking each other up at around 3 mo.
your friend has a 3 year old in a crib? i am just surprised he fits i guess.....
we had our twins sleep in the arms reach bedside cosleepers until they were 5 mo old - 2 of the mini ones- they never slept together.
my son just moved into a toddler bed - he's not 3 yet- and he has not stopped napping - he naps for 2-3 hours a day!

Thanks for the feedback girls. I thought a 3-year old in the crib was a bit old too but then I wasn't sure if it wasn't just bc it was inconvenient for me. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens and how the kids like or don't like sleeping together. If it's affecting them STTN, that's definitely a deal breaker.
