I'm going to make this wrap (inspired by Reese Witherspoon's Sweet Home Alabama wrap). But I'm searching for the perfect yarn. The lady who wrote the pattern used Red Heart, but I can't do the acrylic stuff. It makes my hands hurt. It's about 1000 yards of worsted for the main color (I think I'm going to use the same colors as the original.) Knit Picks WotA doesn't have the right colors for me. I would love to use Malabrigo Twist, but that might get a little pricey. Any other suggestions?
Re: Knitty ladies, my turn with a yarn question.
I don't have any suggestions for you, but WEBS is in my neck of the woods. If you want me to go check something out in person and report back let me know.

GAH. I would love to spend a weekend just walking around squeezing stuff in there.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
alpaca!!!!!!!!!
a merino/bamboo mix?
merino/tencel mix
(both those have a nice sheen to them and take dye differently so it looks all sexy&stuff)

I have so far only spun merino and corriedale, both are nice & squooshy to work up. ?I cannot wait to spin some tencel. ?And milk silk, OMG. ?And soy silk. ?I want to play so bad LOL
I have crocheted with fingering-worsted weight llama & alpaca (both handspun so the thickness varied) and they are so soft & slippy I just want to sleep on it all. ?I really think that wrap needs some sheen to show off the texture though, so I'm leaning toward the merino/bamboo or merino tencel. ?
I say this like I'm the one knitting it. ?ha!! ?
I don't think WotA will give you the right drape that you want. Definitely do a blend...I've seen lots of bamboo blends that seem like they would be nice and drapey. I don't know if you specifically want wool...but the kp shine worsted is cotton/modal that is crazy soft and has a bit of a sheen that would be nice. Berrocco Touche is similar.
annnd you wrote this last night so you probably won't see it...=) happy knitting!
