I'm hoping to get some insight on the whole car seat/stroller, and the snap 'n go travel system. My sister has been telling me from day 1 that I need to get the car seats that I can snap into the car, then remove and snap into the stroller. She says this would be a life saver because it was a pain in the rear to move her sleeping baby from the car seat to a separate stroller.
I was looking at the travel systems that she was talking about, and the double strollers are so bulky, and from what I'm seeing I don't think it'll work well for twins. I'm leaning towards a separate stroller and car seats. Do you have any suggestions one way or the other? I know it's a little different when it comes to two babies instead of one and thought I'd go to you for your experience of what works well, and what doesn't. TIA!
Re: Travel system vs. separate car seats/stroller
i would not buy a travel system - the strollers aren't the greatest... and there's no need for them - you can get a DSNG frame (used on craigslist for about $30-$40 bucks) and use that... or another stroller that you like more that fits 2 car seats (the Kolcraft Contours, City Select, and a few SBS's that do take 2 seats now)
I had a kolcraft contours and used that as a DSNG - it's the same length, but drives nicer... and can be a regular stroller with seats after.
i recently got the City Select but don't use it with infant seats b/c only one of mine is in the infant seat now... if i had it when they were born i would have used that with the infant seats- it's an amazing stroller.

We got a DSNG second hand for super cheap and will use that with the graco snugrides for a while. I'm also getting the bumbleride indietwin for walking in the city and through the park. I'll probably pick up a used double umbrella stroller to keep in the van for errands etc. I've even started thinking about having a single umbrella stroller on hand for the times when I've only got one kid with me.
DH is going to die when he sees the fleet of strollers I have planned for us. lol
