Your responses below reminded me of somethng I read in a magazine and that my boss's wife does.
They take one of those vertical hanging sweater racks and put an outfit for each day of the week on one of the shelves. Their daughter then picks an outfit each morning and gets dressed.
I don't think we're quite at that point yet, but maybe soon after today's success!
Re: joseys and j*w*
Oh, that's a good idea! She actually has one of those in her closet that is being used for storage of random toys and stuff that doesn't have a place. Like jw said, Rory would wear the same outfit every day if you let her because she definitely has her favorites.
Oh, the other problem is that she thinks her dress up princess dresses are fine for everyday wear. And she just doesn't understand why she can't wear a summer dress in the middle of February!
That is a really cute idea! Poor DD has the smallest closet in the house, but maybe I could use her shelf in there and just make 5 piles. The funny thing is, her dresses hang on the higher rail that she can't reach, so it's always,
"E, can you go and get dressed?"
"Mom, I want a dress!!"
I should know to just follow her up there and get it down right from the start. At least some of the stuff that she wears every.single.day, she is starting to outgrow!
