DH & I met online. So I know it was mid July & we met in person 2 weeks later. Our first date was the end of July. I'm sure if I looked at a calander from 5 yrs ago I could find it but I don't really care. lol
i also think it depends on who found each other earlier in life and how you rolled. those who met in HS or early college will have a "real date" bc... thats what people did when younger.
those who met later in college/after or hooked up first or didnt go on a "first date" won't have a date because... well... its up in the air on what to count anyway.
I kind of agree with this. I was in my senior year of college, and DH had graduated from college like, 5 years prior.
But we had been friends for a few years. Like, best friends.
And it just kind of happened. No dates, really. Other than just all the times we hung out with each other every night. We (I) also had some "loose ends" to tie up.
I was also very in denial of when we started dating because it involved a major lifestyle switch for me.
Yes, I remember because I was 16 sitting his truck and him telling me he wanted our relationship to be serious. He was leaving for bootcamp in 4 months and we had talked about nothing serious only casual because of that. But we fell in love. April 4th 1998. 12 years this year...a long tough road but well worth it!
Yep. We started dating in high school and our first date was January 17, 1998. We still acknowledge/celebrate it. We also had that date engraved in our wedding bands because we had been together so long (6 1/2 years) before we got married.
Re: Poll: do you have an exact-date "dating anniversary"?
Same here! We were lucky it fell on a Sat.
Ditto!

Yes, February 9, 2002. Been together 8 years tomorrow!
We waited awhile to get married so I like to say we've been together 8 years rather than we've been married 2 years.
