Doe anyone know if a shelter or thrift store will take opened bottles? I have Dr Brown bottle and nipples and some unopened Avent bottle nipples (slow flow) that I am trying to get rid of... (If you want them, lemme know. Willing to give them away for free!)
Re: Where can I get rid of these bottles?
I am not sure but you could always call some of them. Another thing to think about it the JBF sale is comeing up in April & you could put them in that.
Let me know if you would like that information
Have you ever gone to or sold at a JBF event?
I have TONS of baby stuff that we aren't saving for #2, but I am hestitant to sell at JBF. I have heard that they are picky about the brand of clothes they will let you sell, and super picky about the season.
What is the pricing like at those places? I have no idea how I would know what to price stuff at. Also, do you really get back everything that doesn't sell? I can't imagine what a nightmare it would be to sort all those clothes....
I have an infant snowsuit and other things, and I am thinking I might just be better off getting some friends together and holding a big baby/toddler garage sale this summer...
But, maybe someone here will rave about JBF?
A Little Bird and a Monkey Butt
I've never sold at them before, but I've been to one.
I think a garage sale would be a great idea. I would probably do that before I'd do a consignment sale, just because I could sell what I want and not have to pay anyone for it.
The main reason I wouldn't do it is because I live in an apartment, and I don't have any friends nearby to get together and do a real garage sale with.
The thing is, though, that I always expect to pay less for garage sale items than consignment sale items. So you MIGHT be able to get more money consigning (depending on how much JBF takes out of it).
But a lot of people go to them and I've been to one on the last day and it was slim pickin's. There were probably 3 outfits left in each size. There were toys and stuff left, but not a lot.
I've read that JBF will either donate your clothes, or they will give them back to you. I don't know how well that works out, exactly. I know I would want the clothes back afterward. I'm already having a hard enough time parting with the clothes.
Baby doesn't like them. So, yea, not using them.
