We need a teenage babysitter, and there are a few advertised in our community newsletter. They all have Red Cross certification and a 2-3 years babysitting experience... I plan to pick the youngest one since she'd be with us the longest. But I have no idea what questions to ask a 15 year old. We don't know her or her parents.
My plan was to supervise the first time I had her over and just treat that like a trial but not sure if that's enough. My oldest is 4 so she could tell me if she doesn't like the babysitter.
TIA
Re: Questions to ask teenage babysitter?
Ask her if she can provide you with three people she has sat for in the past that you can call.
See if she can give you examples of how she would handle certain age appropriate situations. i.e. baby will not go to sleep, baby wakes up crying, toddler has a tantrum,
Ask her how late she would be available to sit till
what other obligations she has
