I got some today due to the feeling that my head is going to explode out of my left ear. The pharmacist said it was safe, but after looking it up on-line I am not so sure. What do you ladies think? What have your docs/pharmacists told you?
I've been taking it twice a day for about 3 weeks. If I don't, I get a sinus infection and then end up on antibiotics which are not as safe as the sudafed. My primary care Dr. said it's safe anytime during pregnancy but my OB said he doesn't recommend it until after 1st Tri. Everyone says differently but it has helped me a lot.

Nope, you are supposed to get the kind from behind the counter, from the pharmacist. The kind they use in meth. Crazy, I know.
I did the exact same thing, even though my approved meds sheet said only "Sudafed" (i.e. the regular, behind the counter kind). I then talked to a pharmacist, and he said you are supposed to be using the regular, meth-making variety. This is the kind that they have been having women take for decades, so they have a better sense of whether its safe.
I asked this question last night. My OB said Sudafed was fine, I didn't realize what the difference between regular sudafed and sudafed pe was, so I did some reasearch and both are okay. PE has the same ingredients in Tylenol Cold, which most OBs also approve. It's a class C drug, but overall I was told it is okay if you follow the directions. I took if for 1.5 days and cleared up..but I had to take it pretty steady. GL I feel your pain!

GL!
This. My OB said absolutely no Sudafed PE, only the regular kind you have to sign for behind the counter.
