So every time I try to go to facebook either by typing it in or by clicking on the link from my favorites bar it redirects me to AOL!! Why in the world is it doing this?!!!!! This is so bizarre!

Anybody computer smart know how to help me fix this?

  • That's weird.  Try googling it and clicking on the google link.

  • That is definitely a virus or something like that.  Did you try typing in https://www.facebook.com in the address bar? (I'm assuming you are clicking on a bookmark right now)  It's kinda hard to help without seeing exactly what it's doing.

Yes, I did still takes me to aol. The other weird thing is half of the time it doesn't do it and then all of a sudden it does! We do have virus protection but I know some viruses can still get through. I wonder why it only does it when I try to go to facebook?

  • Because Facebook is one of the biggest things right now... it's a prime target for hackers and easy to nab people because a majority of the population that use it are not technically inclined enough to do anything to avoid it.  Not saying that you don't know any better  :)

What Anti virus software are you using?

It's okay, I'm really not computer savvy! We are using Trend Micro Anti-Virus.

Also, another thing....when I get a link in an email to another website (from people i know) it sends it to aol but an aol page that says" oops sorry that link appears to be broken".

  • Yeah, a lot of the big name anti-virus softwares are targets for hackers too...  McAfee, Norton, Trend.... hackers know  :D

I really wish I could help more!  :)
