Cramping

Have any of you experienced any cramping around week 19? I have no bleeding and yes, I already called my Dr. I'm just concerned on how long this will last and need some peace of mind. TIA

  • I don't know if I'd call it cramping, but a few times I would feel almost like achey in my lower abdomen.  My doc said it was just everything expanding.

  • i have had some at 20 weeks & it was a surprise to me & it lasted a few hours & went away but i did decide to relax when it occurred. it happened 2 days in a row, different times of the day(s).  i too had no bleeding so i was relieved & then i felt the baby as normal so that is a good sign.

  • Oh definitely! I with right there with you.  I've had so many different varieties of cramps over the last week or so... menstrual type cramps, stabbing pains, dull aches... you name it, I've got it!!  Hopefully this won't last too long.  But I have noticed some serious growth going on so it's all for the good of the baby :)

  • I've been having it since 11 weeks. I get my cervix checked weekly, but I think it's because I've got twins and cramping.  So far I've had no major cervical changes, so my doc isn't overly concerned.  She did restrict me to working only 4 hours at a time, but that's because my job requires me to be on my feet, bending, lifting, etc.

Cramping can be normal, especially during a growth spurt in particular.  There's a lot of stretching and expanding going on in there.  But it's good that you run it by your OB so that they can keep an eye on it.  GL!

  • Around week 20 you can start to experience some braxton hicks contractions. I don't remember this with DD #1 but experienced some this week. They feel alot to me like what small contractions but don't last that long. Totally normal and not to worry about unless it becomes patterned.
  • Probably round ligament pain.  Make sure to drink plenty of water.
