Funny story - I have a friend named Virginia. She made dinner reservations at a local brew pub and when we got there, we figured out that they had listed the reservation under "Georgia."
It's really not my style but I don't think of it as a state name. Georgia and Virginia have been girls names for centuries....totally different than naming your kid Montana.
Love it. The children I nanny for have a Georgia in their class. She is the cutest little girl and they call her Georgie.

this (except i like the name). it's a traditional name, not a state-naming trend.

My thoughts exactly.
But, I don't like Georgie as a nn.

LOVE it! It is on my list of girl names.

I like it!
We're considering it, as I have two relatives named "George" I'd like to honor.

I love it! I wouldn't use Georgie as a nn, though.
And would not spell it Jorja, ever.
Gigi is a cute nn, but I really don't think Georgia needs a nn.
