We're making progress folks!

I had my 39 week appt today and it was great.. I got to see MY Ob again after seeing a midwife for 2 weeks straight.. (nothing against midwives.. I've just been seeing this OB/Gyn for 4 years and I'm very attached)..

He said we had to have the "what is the end date" conversation.. as in, how far do I want to go over my due date.. I'm due the 11th and said "I'm cool with inducing the 12th.." mostly just joking, because honestly I don't WANT to be induced at all.. But he said he doesn't induce anyone until 41 weeks unless it's medically neccessary (GD, Pre-e, etc.) .. So I said "cool, how about the 18th then?" .. then he said he prefers to be the doctor DOING the induction and he's not on call until the 20th.. THE 20th!

So unless baby girl makes her arrival before then, I'll be induced on the 20th.. I don't know if I can mentally wait another 16 days.. but we'll see :)

  • It's okay, she'll come before that. I just have a feeling it's going to be real soon. How did he say you were progressing?

  • Did sweeping the membranes hurt? Is that the same thing as stripping? Just different wording...?

I think its the same thing.. It hurt, but it wasn't unbearable.. just made my lower back feel like I was having a heavy period for about 45 seconds.. It was a lot less painful than the cervix check I had last week when my cervix was still very posterior.. it's not posterior anymore. yay!  He said the reason it hurts is because he had to push her head out of the way... poor baby :(
