Dating U/S?

I was just wondering how many girls had dating ultrasounds.  When I was pg with ds in '08 I didn't get one but as soon as I called this time they schedule me for Monday.  Both were through Womens Health Center of Oregon (out of Willamette Falls Hospital).

I would say that's outside the norm, unless you had no idea as to your LMP date? My OB dated me based on the date I gave her.

I had one done, because my period was all sorts of wacky, and I got pregnant on the pill.. Good thing I had it, as when I went in, I thought I was 9 weeks pregnant, but the dating ultrasound (and my progress so far concurs) that I was actually only 6 weeks along

I had a dating u/s done.  They thought I was 8 weeks along, did an u/s and discovered I was only 5w, then did another one the next week to make sure there was a heartbeat. 

I had an u/s at 5w, 6w5d, 18w1d, 22w, 38w, 39w, 40w, and 41w.  I had a very low risk pregnancy with no complications at all.

There's no rhyme or reason to them, each clinic and each Dr do them differently.

Oh and I love Dr Carlton at that practice, is she still there?  She is wonderful.

That's how I've been.. very low risk, very easy pregnancy, but had an ultrasound at 6 weeks, 7 weeks, 19 weeks, 29 weeks & 34 weeks..

I have Kaiser and was SURE of my LMP, but we still did one at 10 weeks and we were right on track.
