Riddle of the day...

Why would you need 8 boxes of frozen brussel sprouts to ride out a blizzard?

Because that's what the woman in front of me in the check out line at the grocery store was buying. Nothing else, just the sprouts. Place was a freaking zoo because we are expecting a blizzard tomorrow. I can see the ice cream and toilet paper being sold out, but brussel sprouts?

Re: Riddle of the day...

  • That reminds me - I still need to go pick up those few things I forgot the other night.
  • Why would you need 8 boxes of brussel sprouts ever...never mind in a blizzard.

And I am dying at "I can see ice cream". Because I will confess that we are expecting bad weather, snacks are the first thing I shop for.  I thought it was just me.

Yeah, I was kind of embarrassed standing behind brussel sprout woman with my Funfetti cake mix.

  • Maybe she has a large collection of pet rabbits?  Joe liked brussel sprouts.

I recently met my 4 month old nephew for the first time, and his mom (my sister) had had brussel sprouts before I held him for the first time (he's BF). I swear, the stink almost knocked me over. It was hard to believe someone so small could be so stinky.

Oh that poor baby.  Hopefully she knows now to stay away from that!

So much for having that sweet bonding moment with him.   That story is going to stick around for a while!

  • Yoda, he was happy as a clam. Just stinky. Oh, so stinky.

Luckily we spent a few days together, so I got to spend time with him after he passed the sprouts. :)

  • That is so funny. I have 3 bags of brussels sprouts in my freezer.

DH loves them. But I try to serve them only on nights that he will be going to work the next day.
