how long will applesauce last?

I bought a big jar of natural applesauce (no sugar added) and opened it a week or two ago and stuck it in the fridge. Just remembered it... poured some out for lunch and it tastes well not bad just not the way I remember somehow. Could it have gone off that quickly?

E and I have been working on the same jar for at least 3 weeks now.  I'm actually eating some now and it's fine.  I wouldn't think it would spoil that fast.

I think it depends on the brand. ?I remember one I had said to eat within 10 days of opening. ?I gave some to DS before reading that it he had a whole bowl before I realized that it tasted bad. ?More like apple wine...lol

He had a long nap that day. ?My DH said he was drunk off of applesauce.

I wouldn't have either but the taste is just too weird. I think I might dump it as sad as that makes me to waste that much food but I don't want to risk it for either of us....

It definitely depends on the brand.  I think the more natural, no-additive brands go bad quicker too.
