Just had the 6mo visit. I'd been having some severe pain in my wrist over the last 2 weeks so I had it in an ace bandage, and our pedi (who's also a sports medicine doc) asked me what happened. I described it and he went ahead and looked at it, diagnosed me with a crazy form of tendonitis that's apparently seen most often in new moms, found a thumb splint for me there in his office, and wrote down the name and personal cell phone number of another doc (his friend) I can go see to get an injection if the pain isn't better in two weeks. And he did all of this for free when our appt was just for Aldon's 6 mo check-up! I heart my pedi.

Isn't it great when things like that happen, yesterday I had to bring LO to his Urologist for a pre surgery consult after talking about the baby I started talking about how I get bad kidney stones all the time and he went in to this long speech pretty much what he would tell me if I had the appointment for myself about what i can do and how I should come in for some testing so they can try and figure out a solution.  My past dr's never could give me any information on prevention.  I was so nice to see a doctor that actually cares about there work and are excited about it.

I am so glad you posted this!  I think I have this new mom tendonitis too!  I've been having bad pain in my wrist but chalked it up to too much typing at work, but I just googled wrist "tendonitis in new moms" and it totally sounds like what I've been experiencing!  I"m going to call my dr. and see about getting a splint or an injection.
