Mucus Plug Question

Might be a dumb question but...Do you always loose your mucus plug before you go into labor?

Some people don't even notice...mine was just snot like discharge when I wiped, mixed with a little blood in the evening. This was the day before my water broke.

Before you have the baby, yes.  Before you go into labor, no. 

Some women don't even see theirs.

My friend and I were just talking about this. I lost mine and she didn't. SO, I guess you don't have to.

I don't remember loosing it with DD, my water broke on my due date and I had no signs up until it did that I would have her that day.

I lost mine in the hospital after my OB ruptured my membranes.

I lost mine before delivering my son. I was around 36 weeks. I haven't lost it this time as of yet...

Definitely not!  I didn't "pass" mine until I was at about 9.5cm!  Right after that, the midwife broke my water and I was ready to push.

I had literally no labor signs before contractions started about 24 hours before I gave birth.  Birth story in blog if you are interested (I also posted it here earlier today)
