I guess this is kinda NBR... just wondering if anyone sees a PA instead of or in addition to their MW/OB? I am seriously thinking of becoming a PA and I am interested in your honest opinions of the care you receive.
At our OB office, they have 3 OBs and a CRNP that they cycle you through during your pregnancy. We have seen all of them and honestly, the CRNP always seems to have more time for you to ask your 5000 questions than the OBs do. A friend of mine had a PA at her OB's office - she said that she felt the same way about her PA as I do about my CRNP.

I alternate between my PA and OB, I like them both equally. I think that my PA provides great answers to my questions and I like that she's more available to sit and chat with me than my OB.
I worked in dermatology for awhile and I have to say that some of our PA's were requested more then the doctors! PA's normally have "lighter" schedules and are able to really get to know their patients.
I've seen one a couple of times. My practice has a boat load of doctors and 1 PA. I usually see my doctor but if he's unavailable I would rather see the PA than one of the other doctors. I just like her better than them. She's friendlier, has more time, seems more interested, etc. If she were a jerk, I would rather see someone else. The fact that she's a PA rather than an MD doesn't factor into my decision at all. In fact, I totally wish that if my doctor is unavailable for the birth that she could do it (but she doesn't - poop!).
