Hey--to answer your question, yes I liked Hillcrest.  I don't know anything about Lake West but even if I did, I would still be partial to Cleveland Clinic.  My labor and delivery was a smooth process and the nurses were attentive.  They were undergoing some renovations when I was there though, but I think those either are or should be finished soon--they were renovating the labor and delivery and postpartum areas, I think.  Like I said, I don't know anything about Lake West, but I know Hillcrest has a good pediatric NICU and that made me feel better to know my baby wouldn't have to go anywhere else if something happened.  Luckily she was very healthy!  I am set to deliver there again this spring.

yes, thanks for this post. I'm fairly new to the cleveland area and was super nervous when I found out I was pregnant (my first) and didn't have a doctor here. I went to Hillcrest and really liked the one nurse, but hated that no matter what doctor I chose to by my OBGYN he/she wouldn't deliver. they told me no docs deliver. so i'm going to start seeing the CNMs because i like the idea of someone being with you from beginning to end. i do like the hospital, though I haven't yet gotten a tour. i'm thinking i'll be due sometime in mid-late September. no EDD yet.

I will second the great experience at Hillcrest.  My mom is a nurse there is L&D so I am kinda of partial but all of my friends who have delivered there have also had great experiences.

If Dr. Rao is in your network I would recommend him.  He is a wonderful doc and would be with from start to finish.  He practically lives at the hospital.
