3rd Trimester

Thermostat Setting?

What temp do you currently keep the thermostat set to?

Will you change it when the baby comes?

(before DS1 we kept it at 67 in the winter during the day. after many fights we now keep it at 69 and we have a built in humidifier which makes the house feel much warmer)

so now we're compromized at 69.

Re: Thermostat Setting?

  • we're at 68...

  • We were just talking about this. Currently at night we keep it at 60 (we're cheap) but we know we will have to put it up when he comes... but didn't know how high we should put it on.
  • We keep it around 69-70 during the day.  We have to be careful at night because when the door to the nursery is closed, DS's room gets really hot with the heat kicking in the winter and really cold when the air is on all summer.  We luckily have a monitor that gives a temp read out in his room and we have to keep the house at night way warmer in the summer and way cooler in the winter than we would prefer in order for his room to be a comfortable sleeping temp.

  • I'm at 65 but it feels warmer than that in here. Our bedroom is 60 [have to keep it cold so I can sleep] so we're going to have to open up the heating vents in there once baby comes.. I'm not sure if I'm going to change it or not. I can comfortably walk around with a t-shirt and shorts on without feeling and I've always kept the heat in our old house at 70 so I'm thinking this one holds heat better and it's warmer than it says it is. I'm going to watch the baby though and see how she does. If she appears cold I plan on turning it up but I don't want to over heat her lol.
  • 60 while we are at work, 62-64 when we are home.

We will turn it up a few after LO comes. But by then it will be Spring and the air won't be on!

  • between 70-72.  our house gets cold!

  • as far as baby goes- i've been told its best to be between 68-72.  our house air circulation TOTALLY sucks so we got a monitor that shows us the temp in the nursery on the handheld part so we can adjust it according to that instead of the rest of the house.... so far weve noticed his room is about 2 degrees different than the temperature reading on the thermostat...

  • We keep it at 70. It's really cold here!
  • 68 right now, probably 70 in the summer.

  • 71 when we are home, 65 when we are away.  We won't change it once Liam gets here.

  • we live in apartment, heat is included in the rent, so we keep it at 68- 70 during the night and about 70 - 72 day time - it is kinda drafty by the windows .... basically the temp. setting depending how cold it is outside, we are in Wisconsin.

once the baby arrives, we will probably keep it right around 70 and turn it up before bath time

  • You may not believe this but...out T-Stat stays at 55 at all times! People think we're crazy but we have outrageous propane bills even with it that low...We have a small gas fireplace that we turn on in the living room to warm it up a bit when we are home. Once baby comes I'm sure we're in for a rude awakening with our bills since we will be turning up the temp at least 10-15 degrees!
