TTC After a Loss

? for Metformin users???

So does Metformin help achieve better eggies/ovulation??

Confused again.......I know I need to "regulate", but I don't know if my OB realizes that I've had really good timing around my wacky schedules. I have used opts and temped last month..........timing around O isn't the problem....

I think I have weak O ..... (bad eggies)......

Will metformin help strengthen O? or just line out my cycles??

(Yes, I know u girls are not my OB and I will be asking her the same questions....but as I explained in pp, I'm growing increasingly less patient with this process over time.......:::humph::::)

Re: ? for Metformin users???

  • The way my endo explained it was: the Metformin helps to balance out the insulin which helps to lower testosterone and raise estrogen. This in turn will help with your cycles by strengthening your lining and make for a better "environment".

The increased estrogen will help with ovulation and with producing stronger eggs. It will also help keep hormones in balance.

This.  In PCOS women, our bodies spend time making excess insulin which causes all kinds of hormone problems.  So some women with PCOS will regulate their cycle on metformin alone, but not all.
