Feeling movement, but only on one side..?

I've been so excited now that I am feeling definite kicking etc.- it's been going on for about a week and it's always on the left side.  Always the left side.  I'm hoping I'll feel it elsewhere soon, but I'm just wondering if this is common...

Re: Feeling movement, but only on one side..?

  • I didn't feel either baby move until 19w. Do you know where your placentas are? If the baby on the right has an anterior placenta that could mean not feeling movement till later. Or that baby could tend to face the left so s/he is kicking your other baby instead of you.

  • I don't really feel any movement on my left side - only the right. I know baby A is head down and more to the right. Baby B was breech at the 19w u/s - I figure she might be facing right.

16w is early - don't be surprised if you go some days without feeling anything right now. Mine didn't pick up in frequency until almost 19 wks.

  • I didnt feel real movement until 22w but when I did, it was always on the side of Baby A.  Around 30w, baby B flipped and I could then feel him more.  Before that, he was always kicking his placenta.

  • I felt movement only on one side at first too.  Turns out that both of my girls were transverse, so I was feeling two sets of feet :-)

This exactly. They are both transverse with both of their feet on my right side. Just within the past few days I have felt more movement on my left side.

  • Ditto the transverse early on. BOth sets of feet were on the left. Now i feel movement all over, however I feel Baby A a lot more than Baby B.

Me too.  One week all 4 feet were on my right, the following week they were all on my left.

  • I didn't feel both babies until close to 19-20 weeks.
